ZIGGY POLVERE DI STELLE

Ziggy suonava la chitarra, alternandosi bene con
Wierd e Gilly, gli Spiders from Mars
Lui suonava con la sinistra, ma andò troppo in là,
Divenne il tipo speciale, e allora diventammo il gruppo di Ziggy.

Ziggy cantava davvero, strabuzzava gli occhi e agitava la chioma
come alcuni gatti giapponesi, li poteva leccare con un sorriso
Li poteva lasciare in attesa
Diventò un uomo importante, ben messo e con la tintarella bianco neve.

Così dov’erano i ragni quando la mosca cercò di romperci le palle
solo la luce della birra a guidarci,
così ci lagnammo dei suoi fans e avremmo dovuto spaccare le sue dolci mani?

Ziggy suonava a tempo, cantando che eravamo voodoo
i ragazzi erano proprio ottusi, lui era il Nazareno
con un gran bel culo
esagerò un po’ ma ragazzi, se sapeva suonare la chitarra.

Facendo l’amore col suo ego Ziggy fu risucchiato nella sua mente
come un messia lebbroso
Quando i ragazzi l’hanno ucciso ho dovuto sciogliere il gruppo.

Volevo aggiungere questo breve e apparentemente privo di senso logico che in realtà, secondo me, nasconde un significato, oltre che musicale, molto profondo.
Bowie in un'intervista ha dichiarato che la canzone parla delle persone che sono rimaste intrappolate a Berlino est.
Da questa dichiarazione si può leggere il testo in questo modo:
nel primo e ultimo verso secondo me, dato che non esiste una versione ufficiale del testo, si sente bright (luminosa) e non bride e secondo me "la luminosa stella perdente divisa" non è nient'altro che Berlino perchè, prima della guerra, era una città splendente e poi perchè è stata divisa in due dal muro e, secondo Bowie, Berlino era i una sorta di decadenza in quel periodo.
La "linea di sicurezza" è sempre il muro di berlino.
Della parte rimanente del testo non sono riuscito a dare un'interpretazione.
Comunque questa è solo una mia interpretazione e di questo testo ne esistono molte.

mm, però quello "share" è più un "condividere". Avrebbe più senso se dicesse "divided bright failing star". E poi "Shirley own"...boh! Se il significato fosse "Shirley stessa", allora secondo me dovrebbe essere "Shirley herself", visto che "own" è un rafforzativo di proprietà (my own car).
Questa canzone potrebbe essere scritta in arabo..!
Però probabilmente il senso che le hai dato tu è quello più giusto.
(Bella idea quella di aggiungere la sezione dei testi!)

Allora è probabile che si riferisca quando Berlino è stata suddivisa tra le varie potenze vincitrici. Poi quel "Shirley own" potrebbe essere "surely own" ma non avrebbe lo stesso molto significato.

e se fosse: driving me...surely ON?

Heroes...assolutamente un capolavoro!

Io avevo letto da qualche parte che le parole di Subterraneans erano state scelte unicamente per il loro suono, non perchè dovessero avere senso... un po' come Warszawa Con questo non voglio scoraggiare le interpretazioni, ci mancherebbe! anzi, quella data da Mrk è molto interessante
Buona idea quella di postare i testi, comunque ^^ anche perchè, come si è visto, non tutti sono così immediati...

Questa canzone è stata registrata durante la sessioni di Ziggy Stardust ma poi fu scartata. Ne esiste anche una versione riregistrata per Toy.
Non è molto famosa ma il testo è molto poetico.

allora non l'ho notato solo io! e ti do ragione nell'interpretazione.
non ho quasi mai letto i testi di Low perchè quello che si sente si capisce ma proprio questa strofa mi ha sempre lasciato perplessa. anch'io ho sempre capito 'bright' ma nel libretto, e ovunque, hanno scritto 'bride' ma io capisco chiaramente 'BRIGHT' che ha decisamente più senso se ci riferiamo a Berlino
